Obituary of Edward Frances Longo Jr.

Edward Francis Longo, Jr. Edward Francis Longo, Jr. (Ned), 53, of Windsor, NY, passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of July 9, 2014 in Windsor, NY. Ed was born January 9, 1961 in Scranton, PA. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Edward & Claire (Marzani) Longo and many close family and friends. Ed is survived by his wife, Lisa (Miller), of Windsor NY; sister, Dianne Longo of Mountaintop, PA; son Edward III & his wife Jennifer of Vestal, NY; step-children, Audrey (Jake) Dupont of Windsor, NY and Amber (Wilson) Batista, his little buddy, granddaughter, Isabella of Binghamton, NY; and mother of his son, Diana Longo of Vestal, NY. Ed was a graduate of Vestal High School. Following in his father's footsteps, Ed was employed by Binghamton University for the Psychology & Biology departments as the lab equipment designer. A lifelong machinist, hunter, fisher, knife maker, collector, gunsmith, marksman, animal lover, motorcycle fabricator and rider. He was a dedicated fan of his son-in-law, Wilson Batista's professional baseball career and the NY Yankees. Ed was the co-founder of Vestal Center Motorcycle Club, president of the Windsor Sportsmen's Assoc., a NRA recruiter, and a top world ranked bench rest shooter. An avid dog lover, Ed was predeceased by his three dogs, Bear, Misty, and Jack, along with surviving dogs Willie & Girlie. Calling hours will be held at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 765 Main Street in Vestal on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 4-7PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Main Street, Vestal on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ed's memory to The Humane Society at 2 Jackson Street, Binghamton, NY 13903.
