Obituary of Marian E. Ludden

Marian Elizabeth Ludden Marian Elizabeth Ludden, 81, passed away on July 28, 2014 at the Willow Point Nursing Home. Marian was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Frances Temple of Carrot River, Saskatchewan and her brother, Glenn Temple. She is survived by her dearly loved husband of 40 years, Robert Ludden; her children, Darcy Mitchell, James (Anne) Mitchell, Ron (Terri) Mitchell and Douglas (Anne) Mitchell; her grandchildren, respectively, Alex (Kim) Maret and Amy Maret, Mari (Jeff) Reed and Thomas Mitchell, Kevin (Anna) Mitchell, and McKenzie, Kyler and Bridget Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Zachary and Katie Reed; brothers, Floyd Temple, Wayne Temple and Jim Temple; sister, Audrey Burtsch of Canada; stepchildren, Donna (Roy) Stehm, Natalie Roberts, Victoria Pangburn and Margo Pruitt; step-grandchildren, Bree Pangburn, Shawnae Pruitt and Daryl Pruitt. Her work included time as an engineering aide for Davis Broday, Architects at Binghamton University, office manager for Upjohn Healthcare and data compiler for the U.S. Department of Labor, Consumer Price Index. Marian's great loves included both singing and fine arts painting. She studied voice under various teachers, including Donna Lundy and was involved in many singing groups as chorus member, soprano soloist, and youth choir director. Notably, she sang with the Lakeside Chorale in Plattsburgh, NY and locally with the BC Pops, Binghamton Symphony, University Chorus and several local churches. She often sang both sacred and secular duets with her husband, Bob. In her later years, she turned to painting with a special love for flowers. She was a member of the Fine Arts Society of the Southern Tier. Her works were shown locally and around the state at hospitals, town halls, libraries, senior centers, industrial plants and outdoor shows and were the recipients of many awards. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Presbyterian Church, 200 East Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 East Main Street, Endicott on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 5-7 p.m.
