Jean Rouse

Obituary of Jean E. Rouse

Jean Elizabeth (Crafts) Rouse, 59, (aka "Warrior Woman") went to be with her Lord on August 5, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Alan L. Rouse, Endicott, NY; mother, Coralie D. Cavanaugh, Dimock, PA; father, Neal E. Crafts, Montrose, PA; daughter and son-in-law, Amie (Henry) and Sean Pitman, Endicott, NY; stepson and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Martha Rouse, Endicott, NY. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren Teagan, Kayla, Tyler, Caitlin, Katryna and her husband Dillion, and Amber and great-grandson Wyatt. Jean was part of the Montrose Area High School graduating class of 1973 and she was overjoyed to be able to reconnect with so many of her classmates over the past few years. Jean was owner of JR Embroidery in Vestal, NY and Pink Mouse Embroidery in Concord, NC. She always took great pride in making her customers happy and making friends in the process. Jean's most recent accomplishment was beginning Warrior Women in Action to spread awareness of the importance of annual checkups for women to prevent female cancers. Throughout her 3 ½ year battle with cervical cancer she inspired and touched so many people's lives. She gave selflessly to others with no expectations in return. Jean's family will receive friends and family on Sunday August 10, 2014 from 2-5 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home in Endicott, NY. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Hawleyton United Methodist Church in Binghamton, NY officiated by Jean's brother-in-law, Rev. William Puckey with a reception to follow. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Jean Rouse aka Warrior Woman.
