Obituary of Anita Joan Simeck

Johnson City: Anita Joan (Hancharik) Simeck, 78, went to be with the Lord our God and Savior on November 22, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Hancharik and Mary (Litavec) Hancharik; sister, Marion Hancharik (who died at infancy). Anita is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Joseph Anthony Simeck; three children, son, Joseph D. Simeck of New York; daughter, Paula Hartford of Charlotte, NC; daughter, MaryEllen and Charles Schilling of Binghamton, NY; granddaughter, Kelsey and Zachary Zopp; grandson, Garrett Schilling; sister, Ann Marie and Eraldo D'Orsogna of Hudson, FL and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Anita was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity R. C. (formerly St. Ann's) Binghamton. Anita graduated from Binghamton Central High School and met the love of her life, Joe Simeck in February of 1952. They were married on July 14, 1956. Joe and Anita built their family home in Johnson City in 1960 where they raised their three loving children. Anita was an avid bowler and a member of the WIBC 600 Club. She made multiple television appearances in Binghamton's State Bowling Centers Tournament and was a champion twice. She was a founding member of St. Ann's school cafeteria, providing the first daily lunches for the students, and was the Business/Office manager for WAAL/WKOP Radio for 25 years. Special thanks to Aunt Helen Urban and cousins Dorothy Manni and Delores Sinchak for their extra love and care to Anita. We also want our Dad to know our love and gratitude for all his dedication and loving care he gave to Mom. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on November 26, 2014, time to be announced, at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect St., Binghamton. Burial will follow at Holy Spirit Cemetery following the Mass. The family will receive friends on November 25, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St., Endicott.
