Obituary of Sharon J. Neally

Sharon J. Neally Sharon J. Neally, 72, of Endicott, went to be with our Lord and her children on Wednesday January 14, 2015. She was born on May 23, 1942. She attended Corning Free Academy and Hammonsport Central High School. Sharon lived her life for God, her family, and her community. As a mother of two sons with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, she was faced with many challenges. Sharon conquered them all. Her sons were her life, even after their lives had ended. She was named Mother of the Year in 1975. She was a Certified Home Health Care Worker for several years. Sharon was a generous and caring person. Sharon volunteered at Office of the Aging-Foster Grandparent Program of Broome County, Adult Mental Center of Broome County, Animal Care Council of Endicott, St. Ambrose Religion Education of Endicott. She received many awards for her work and volunteering over the years. Sharon boasted often about her sons, and her brother, Jimmy, and him visiting her with his children. Sharon was predeceased by her two childrenn James "Jimmy" Michael Riley and David Michael Riley; her brother, Robert "Bobby" L. Neally; Her father, James W. Neally, Jr.; and her mother, Norma M. Neally. Sharon is survived by her brother, James "Jimmy" H. Neally, Sr.; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Anna Regina "Reggie," Joseph "Joe" Yurko, and Joan Meeham; and many others. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Ave. Endicott, on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin in the Spring. The family will receive friends at the Church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
