Obituary of Joseph Giannetti

Joseph Giannetti, 83, of Endicott, NY passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Concetta Giannetti; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Edith Giannetti; and sister and brother-in-law, Angeline and Wayne Hastings. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Gladys Giannetti; five children, Joyce Beriman, Jean (Ernest) Scott, Joseph Giannetti, Barbara Cochran, and Joann (Thomas) Frantz; ten grandchildren, Jackie Scott, Ernest Scott Jr., Shawn Giannetti, Luke Darrow, Heather Beriman, Angela Beriman, Amber (Nicholas) Barrett, Brittany Cochran, Angel Keppler, and Janielle Frantz; six great grandchildren, Kelsey Terrell, Kayla Butts, Landon Barrett, Sophia Barrett, Jayden Cochran and Liliana Luckie; brother and sister-in-law, Anthony Jr. and Beverly Giannetti; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ezra and Helen Bunt, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Joe earned the National Defense Service Medal while serving in the United States Marine Corps as a rifleman from 1952-1954 and in the United States Marine Reserves from 1954-1960. He was employed by the Canada Dry Bottling Company and the Felix Roma Bakery, retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Endicott NY Lodge 1065 where he played in several Shuffleboard Tournaments. Joe enjoyed playing Pinochle and Blackjack, planting flowers and vegetables in his garden, camping at Timberline Lake when his children were younger, carpentry and tinkering around the house and he enjoyed cookouts, birthdays and holidays surrounded by his family. The family would like to thank Lourdes Hospice, two special nurses at Wilson Hospital-North Tower 4, Ally and Michelle, Dr. Mehta, Dr. Wilhelm, Dr. Marhaba, Dr. Bayne and Dr. Schumeyko. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 300 East Main St., Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Endicott.
