Obituary of George M. Rynick

Rev. George M Rynick, III died peacefully at 11:45 a.m. on January 30, 2016 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY. He was 88 years old. He was surrounded by his family who sang and prayed and cried around his bed. George devoted his life to communicating the good news about the possibility of God's love in our daily lives. Though we will miss him, he continues in the hearts of the many people whose lives he has touched. George earned degrees from the Coast Guard Academy as well as Princeton Theological Seminary. From 1956 on, he served the Lord as a Presbyterian minister, most notably at the Northminster Presbyterian Church in Endwell, NY where he was senior minister from 1960 - 1971. From 1975 until his retirement in 2015, he continued his ministry as a psycho-therapist. He was President of the International Society for the New Identity Process and made countless trips to travel and teach in Europe where he was widely known and respected. George is survived by his cherished wife of 26 years, Carleen A Rynick. He is also survived by the children of his first marriage to Sylvia P Jones: Stephen Rynick, David Rynick, Ellen Solt and Janet DePooter. He is also survived by his family with Carleen: Julie Thomas, Heather Bryla, and Andrew MacLaury as well as his many and wondrous grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 3rd from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Endwell, NY. A Memorial Service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Northminster, followed by a luncheon.
