Obituary of Jack L. Steenburg

On April 12, Jack Lee Steenburg just short of his 78th birthday, passed into a life free from pain & suffering to join those who preceded him in death; his sisters Amelia and Mary, brother Manny, and his grandson, Jodee. He leaves behind his loving wife of 52 years, Joan (Joni), and children Lisa Conley, Holli Myers, and Jason (Angela) Steenburg. He was "Papa" to Elizabeth, Matthew, Kristopher, Ericka, Alexandria, Carter, and Kiera; and Great Grampie to Alexis, Callie, Matty, and Dominick. Also mourning his loss, his sister, Theresa, brothers-in-law Bruce and Jeffrey (Frances), and several cousins, nieces & nephews. Jack owned & operated Jack's Service Garage in Endicott for several years, then was employed at Vestal Schools in the Maintenance Department for 25 years. He drove his #70 stock car at local tracks, also at Pocono and Trenton. Jack enjoyed bowling and was a youth coach as well as bowling in several leagues and participating in many tournaments over the years, earning two 300 games and one 299. He was proud to be a past Master of Round Hill Masonic Lodge #533 F&AM. A VERY special thank you to the staff at Willow Point West Wing, Jack's residence since June. Calling hours will be at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, LLC 300 East Main St Endicott on Thursday, April 21 from 4-5:45 pm, at which time a Masonic service will be conducted by Round Hill Masonic Lodge #533 F&AM. A Memorial Service will be held at the Union Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Main St in Endicott on Friday, April 22, at 11:00AM.Rev. Patricia Raube pastor will officiate. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery Endicott. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity in Jack's name or to the Memorial Fund at Union Presbyterian Church.
