Obituary of Audrey Louise Lawton

Audrey Louise Lawton (English), 57, died on September 17 ending her nearly four year battle with cancer and is now at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born May 11, 1959 in Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, New York. Graduating from Montrose High School in 1977 she attended and graduated as a member of the last class of Wilson Hospital School of Nursing in 1980. Audrey worked for 36 years a floor nurse and later as a Clinical Manager at Lourdes Hospital. She was a member of a variety of professional organizations including American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She was a member of Grace Point Church where she lovingly devoted her time and effort to the Children's Ministries, Kid's Club, decorating committee and Fireside Bible Study. She was involved with Conversational English that enabled College Students to become more proficient in English. Her love and care of these students resulted in many identifying her as their American mother. Audrey was very creative and had the unique ability to envision and execute a variety of activities such as creative memories, flower gardens, cooking, and decorating her and her daughter's home. In 1981 Audrey was married and devoted to her husband Neil Lawton. She has one daughter Heather Lawton who was the light of her life and her best friend. Audrey was predeceased by her father, John English. She is survived by her mother, Rose English, several brothers and sisters, Nancy and Arnett Leftenant, Janet and Ty Reiter, Judy Crocker, Patricia Griffis, John and Ruth English, Mark and Sara English as well as several nieces and nephews. Also surviving Audrey is her sister-in-law and her husband, Evelyn and JR Croft. Special appreciation to those that minister to her include Dr. Ronald Harris, MaryBeth Vasicko, Joe and Deb Underwood,Carolyn Long, Holly Boerner, Patty Griffis, Nancy Leftenant, Teri Pasquale, Elwood Derr, Rodney Frost, Pastor Kyle, Pastor Tim and Pastor Naik. Also thanks to the caring nursing staff at Broome Oncology, Lourdes Hospital and Wilson Hospital. In Lieu of flowers donation can be made to Kids Club, Grace Point Church. A memorial service will be at the Grace Point Church 3701 Old Vestal Road, Vestal New York at 12pm on September 24,2016. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:30 to 12:00.
