Obituary of Olga Kyzmir Solomon

Olga Kyzmir Solomon Olga peacefully fell asleep in the Lord Sunday November 27 at Beechtree Care Center Ithaca, NY. Survived by her daughter Susanne, Son-in-law Jack Thompson and her Granddaughter Katherine. Olga is also survived by her nephew Peter James Kyzmir and his children Kristin Kyzmir-Martin with her children Peyton and Lincoln all in the Lisle, NY area, Erica Kyzmir-McKeon and her daughter Lois of Boston, MA, and Alexandra Kyzmir, as well as her sister Alice Matthews of Vestal, NY and her children Katherine Robertson and Philip Matthews. Olga, married 58 years, was the widow of Joseph Solomon, and was predeceased by her mother and father Katherine and Philip and her brothers Peter, Theodore, John and Jack. Olga had been an Executive Secretary for Harrison Radiator in Lockport, NY as well as in Seaford, DE. A 1940 graduate of Lockport NY Senior High School and champion basketball player, Olga was very active in her community wherever she lived, and was Past President of YWCA Lockport, Girl Scouts, Garden Clubs in Lockport, Endwell and Roberson/Binghamton (she truly loved her gardens!), a member of several Russian Clubs and active in local projects. Olga was also an alumnae initiate member of Alpha Phi Sorority through her daughter's chapter at Cornell University and was an active supporter. Words cannot express the impact Olga had on her community, family and friends. Viewing at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, LLC., 300 East Main St., Endicott will be Friday Dec. 2, 5 to 7 pm and Panahida at 6:30. Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 3 at Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church on Hill Ave., Endicott, NY at 11:30 AM with burial immediately following at the church cemetery.
