Obituary of Donald O. Edwards

Donald O. Edwards, 93, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Vestal Park Nursing Center. He was predeceased by his parents, eight siblings, and his wife of 62 years, Phyllis R. Edwards in 2008. Don is survived by his children and their spouses; Susan and Terry McLain, Donald W. and Cynthia Edwards, Donna and Craig Harrington, and Cynthia and Tim Harris. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Msgt. Christopher McLain, USA, Robert and Charlene McLain, Donald W. Edwards, Jr., Robert Edwards, Jeri-Ann and Greg McKeon, Staci and Tommy Armstrong, Jessica and Trey Chamblee, Joshua Pierce, and Lucas Pierce. Also survived by 11 great grandchilden, brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Anita Edwards, and several nieces and nephews, and brothers-in-law, William and James Reynolds. Don was a veteran of WW II, serving in the China, India, Burma campaign. He was a past member of the Endicott Police Department, and the West Corners Fire Department. Upon leaving the police department, he was employed by IBM Owego and retired after 25 years of service. Don was a lifetime member of the West Endicott Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Friday March 24th, 2017 at 2 p.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, NY with Pastor Robert McGehee officiating. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are welcome to call at the funeral home on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the activities department at the Vestal Park Nursing Center.
