Benjamin F. Vanderburg, 90, of Vestal and Johnson City, passed from this life into the hands of God, on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. Ben is predeceased by his parents, Benjamin and Mildred (Bridges) Vanderburg, one brother Ralph Vanderburg, one sister Romaine Freel, two Sons, Frank and David and his former wife Virginia (Webb) Vanderburg. Benjamin is survived by one brother, John Vanderburg of Endicott. He is also survived by two Sons, Robert and Debbie Vanderburg, The Villages, FL, Gary and Debbie (Edson) Vanderburg, The Villages, FL, and a daughter-in-law, Sue (Roloson) Vanderburg also of The Villages, FL, two Grandsons, Robert (Michelle) and Ryan, one Great Grand Son, Beto, and one Great Grand Daughter, Savannah. He is also survived by his long time companion, Joyce Fuller, and her two daughters, Bethany and Brenda, from Johnson City and Endicott. Ben also leaves several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, two Brother-in-laws, and many friends and other family members. Benjamin was a WWII veteran, service in the Pacific Theater of War in 1944-1945. He was a long time member of the Vestal American Legion, John Handt, Post 89, and a former member of the Johnson City Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Benjamin was a retired Truck Drive of many years, where he drove for Tuffley and Son's for 30 plus years. After his Truck Driving days were over, he worked for Universal Instruments Corp, in Binghamton, where he made many lasting friendships, retiring from Universal in the late 1980's. He most enjoyed spending time on the Golf Course, and time with his "boys", playing golf, or just enjoying the company. We were fortunate enough for him to be able to spend 6 weeks with us in Florida in December and January, where he played golf with us several times, and thoroughly enjoyed his time, with all of us. He always included Dave, Bob and Gary, whenever he could find a local golf tournament for us to play in together. In the years past, he also enjoyed bowling, where he spent many years on the lanes, with family and friends. He very much enjoyed bowling in tournaments both local and around the state, where he bowled for the Eagles Fraternal organization in State Tournaments. The family will receive friends Monday, from 9 AM until 11 AM at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main Street, Endicott, NY followed by the Service at 11 AM. Burial will be at Riverhurst Cemetery in Endicott, NY following Funeral Services. The family would like to thank the wonderful help and care given by the Hospice of Broome County. If desired, friends are asked to make donations to Hospice of Broome County, in Dad's name. Dad, you will always be in our thoughts and prayers. We all love you so much. You can now spend the time lost with Frank and Dave
