Obituary of Earl R. Creller

Earl Roger Creller, 83, of Endicott, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2017. He was predeceased by his infant son, Kevin Lloyd Creller, his parents William and Gertrude Creller, brothers Lloyd, Duane and Bernard Creller, sisters Vivien Creller, Mary Jane Camp and Mildred Jackson, and brother-in-law Richard Tierney. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Eileen Creller, children Clint (Sandy) Creller, Scott (Kim) Creller and Karen Casey, their mother Shirley Creller, step-children James (Mary) Krisko, Jean (Mike) Ostrye, Janet Krisko, Richard Krisko, brothers-in-law Larry (Jane) Tierney and Thomas Tierney, 16 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. Earl was born in Endicott, NY on October 18, 1933. At the age of nine his father passed away and he and his siblings went to live in the Children's Home of Wyoming Conference. At age 16 he joined his mother on Long Island. At age 18 he enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After discharge, he lived on Long Island raising his family until 1977 when he returned to Endicott. While employed at the Union Forging Company he was a Shop Steward for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Union. Upon closure, he worked at Penske Truck Rental until he retired. During his life he enjoyed bowling, hunting and especially horseshoes, playing in a league with his sons for many years. He loved his dogs Scootie, Muffy and Cubby. His hobbies included collecting classic model cars, jigsaw and word search puzzles and woodworking making many gifts for his family and friends. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Old Village Union Historical Society. Earl will be remembered for his kind, generous heart, friendliness, quick wit and sense of humor, and the ability to pull off a one-liner like no other. Our family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the VA doctors and nurses especially Liz and Angela, and the many wonderful home health aides particularly niece, Kathy Camp, Erin, Alison, Ray Ann and Betty. Please join us in celebrating Earl's life on Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 1 to 5 pm at Earl's home. Please come prepared to share your favorite story about him.
