Obituary of Charles F. Loeffler

Charles F. Loeffler, cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Ideal Skilled Nursing Center. He was born in Endicott on October 29, 1919, the son of Joseph & Margaret Loeffler. Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jane, and his brothers, Ellsworth, Edward, and Frederick. He is survived by his children, Susan (James) Canfield, Curtis (Terrie) Loeffler, and Judy (Paul) Marcyan, grandchildren, Holly (Andrew) Glover, Jeffrey Loeffler, and Renee Marcyan, and great-grandchildren, Emmeline and Tobias Glover. Charles is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Charles graduated from Union-Endicott High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 until 1946 when he was honorably discharged. After the war, Charles was employed by Valley Automatic Machine Company (VAMCO) for 35+ years until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the Union Center United Methodist Church. Charles was a life-long bowler and fisherman and loved spending time doing both with his children and grandchildren. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff on Daisy Court at Ideal Skilled Nursing Center with Special Hugs for Jessica, Adrina, Mallory, and Jaime. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. from the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The Rev. David McKinney will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
