Obituary of Donna Brinser

Endicott – Donna Brinser, 86, Endicott, NY. On January 21, 2018, surrounded by her devoted family, our beloved Donna passed from this earthly life to receive her angel wings as she joined her husband and family in heaven. She was born of late Ward & Reva Stratton and predeceased by husband Charles Brinser Sr., brother Paul Stratton and daughter in law Karen (Donahue) Brinser. Donna is survived by her sister Roberta (James) Block, sisters in law Gertrude Kotsubka, Isabell Quartararo, Evelyn (Robert) Haynes, children Charlotte (Jerry) Bowie, Denise (Thomas) Johnson, Charles Brinser Jr. (friend Mary Brush), Deanna Brinser, Christopher (Karen) Brinser, 11 grandchildren plus their spouses, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. After graduating from Newark Valley High School Donna attended training in Kansas City and was employed as a TWA ticket agent at Idlewild Airport, NYC. After meeting her future husband during a motorcycle ride, she happily married and started her family. She was an active stay at home mother, participating and supporting all of her children's activities. She began working as an AVON representative in 1973 and consistently achieved President's Club awards throughout her 45 year career. She achieved her 40th Mrs. Albee award in December of 2017. Donna became life-long friends with her customers and was known to frequently go "above and beyond" helping those who were shut-ins or with special needs. Some of Donna's other interests include; Spirit of 76 Fife and Drum Corp, President; Continental Ancient Fife & Drum Corp, President and marching member; American Legion Post 1700 Auxiliary member, Honor Guard, and officer; Treasurer and Trustee of Newark Valley Cemetery; active member of Central United Methodist Church including Sunday School teacher, MYF leader and bell choir member. She also enjoyed sewing and crafts, being a Brownie leader, Red Hats Society, Antique Society, photography, doll collecting, hot air ballooning, 34 years of our annual family reunion vacations at Sylvan Beach and spending time with her grandchildren. A service of celebration of life will be held on Saturday January 27, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Central United Methodist Church, 17 Nanticoke Ave., Endicott, NY. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Donna's name to Central United Methodist Shepherd Supper.
