Endicott - Our father, Gerald (Jerry) P. Campbell, 90, of Endicott, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, February 6, 2021. He was predeceased by his son, John E. Campbell, in October 2020. He was also predeceased by his parents, John T. and Margaret Blanche Campbell; his brothers and sister-in-law John W. (Jane), Stanley L., Richard E., and Edward J., and sister, Loretta M. Campbell. He is survived by two sisters, Mary E. and Barbara A. Campbell, and sister-in-law Jeannette B. Campbell. He is survived by the mother of his children, MaryJane O'Hora, and his children Jerry (Rosa), Dennis, Kevin (Laurie), Linda (Rocco) Fragnito, and Patrick; son John's partner Michael Oh, HI; grandchildren Sean (Amy) Campbell and Nicole Fragnito (Vincent Ryan); great-granddaughter Breena Campbell, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. His best friend for over 25 years, Joyce Tripp, and her family (Lori, Todd, and their children), opened their hearts and treated Dad as family. Also, close friend, Larry McKeon kept in touch with Gerald every day. Special thanks to Kim Zaverton, Sean's mother, who supported the family with compassion during our father's care. After serving in the U.S. Army in Germany during WWII, Gerald returned to learn the art of blowing and bending glass in New York City, and started a local neon sign business. He was also a retiree of I.B.M. Endicott and a member of the Quarter Century Club. He was a devoted, life-long member of St. Ambrose Church of Endicott. In his early years, he dabbled in real estate and purchased many homes from family and friends in his neighborhood. He loved his annual trips to Nova Scotia with Joyce. In the winter, Gerald enjoyed visiting his brother's home in Florida and in the summer, he spent his time at the family cottage on Seneca Lake. In his remaining years, Dad looked forward to his Sunday afternoon dates with his special friend, Joyce. Our father was rich in kindness, never turning his back on anyone who needed help. Gerald made friends wherever he went and was never without his pen and notebook. Above all, he loved and supported each family member with all his heart. Gerald is and will always be a great loss to our family, forever loved and missed. Thank you to family and friends for your support and prayers. A private service for family will be held at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home. A burial and memorial celebration of his life will be held this summer in Lodi, NY for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Gerald's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
