Richard (Dick) Masters passed away peacefully on Sunday October 30th, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is predeceased by Sally, his adoring wife of 60 years; his parents, Joseph and Esther; and his brother Gene. He is survived by his six children: Susie, Joe (Jennifer Williams), Peggy, Marie (Chris Bailey), Trish (Gary O'Neill), Rick ( Daniela Tiberia); his sisters, Janet Gushue and Linda Northrop; and his grandchildren, Sam, Julia, Annie, Dan, Jack, Ryan, Sarah, Grace, Sabrina, Margot, Alexa, Pete, Mac, Ellen, and Jared. Dick was born and raised in Tonawanda, NY and graduated from the University of Buffalo. Following his service in the United States Army, he spent his entire professional career as an engineer at IBM in Owego, NY. Dick was a devoted Catholic and a long time member of both Our Lady of Sorrows and Our Lady of Good Counsels. He dedicated countless hours serving the community as a part of the Apalachin Lions Club, where he was a member for over 60 years. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his beloved family and spreading laughter wherever he went. He was the life of every party and enjoyed sharing a drink and a song with everyone he encountered. Instead of a traditional wake, the family will receive relatives and friends at Kelly's Sports Bar on Page Avenue in Endicott from 4PM to 7PM on Friday November 11. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Ambrose Church in Endicott at 10AM on Saturday November 12. A luncheon will follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Apalachin Lions Club, PO Box 317, Apalachin, NY 13732.
