Obituary of Amelia Caganek

Amelia Caganek, 103, of Vestal, was born on September 13, 1918 and passed away on October 13, 2021. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas A Caganek & Brothers, Karl, Rudy & Joseph Hektor and son-in-law, Brian Webster. She is survived by her daughter, Norma Webster, grandsons & wives, Brandon & Erica Webster, Ryan & Samantha Webster, Cory & Alicia Webster & 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary & Joseph Zielinski, sister-in-laws, Mary Hektor & Rose Hektor plus several nieces and nephews. She was a long-time member of St. Paul's Church in Binghamton and was a current member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Vestal. She worked for many years at Binghamton General Hospital in the mail and store room and was also a member of the Binghamton General Hospital Auxiliary. A funeral mass will be offered Tuesday, October 19th at 10:00am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 801 Main Street, Vestal, NY. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday morning from 9:00am until the service time at 10:00am. The family would like to thank Vestal Park Nursing and Rehab Center for their care over the years that she has been there. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or St Jude's.
