Robert V. Rudler (2/23/1940-1/15/2025)
Robert V. Rudler, 84, of Apalachin, passed away at Susquehanna Nursing Home Wednesday, 1/15/25, after an extended illness.
He was predeceased by: parents Elwood & Marian Rudler, Brother Gary Rudler, Aunt Phyllis & Larry Hurlburt, and aunt Hazel & Kenny Sinnet.
He is survived by: wife Sylvia Rudler, children Lori Swackhammer, Jeff & Maryjo Rudler, and Michael Rudler & Giovanna Vidoli, grandchildren Britney Rudler & Houcine Belhai, Allie Rudler & Joe Ankrom, Peri Swackhammer, John Swackhammer, Matilda Vidoli-Rudler, and Julian Vidoli-Rudler, great grandchildren Acacia, Liberty, Lael, and Ilyas, nephews Douglas Rudler and Donald Rudler, and cousins Scott Sinnet and Glen Hurlburt.
Robert worked for IBM, completing their apprentice program, and was then drafted into the United States Army. After the army, he once again worked for IBM until opening his own machine shop, United Machine & Tool. Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed wood-working and car repair. He was a long term member of Skate Creek Club Inc. Robert wrote a book on Winchester Super Speed cartridges.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, 1/25/25 at 11:00am at South Apalachin Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at South Apalachin Baptist Church on Saturday, 1/25/25 at 10:00am.
