Obituary of Patricia M Pendergast

Patricia Marie Pendergast (Valabek), 85, of Apalachin, NY, passed away on January 29th, 2025. Patricia was born in Endicott, NY to Joseph and Ann Valabek on April 26, 1939. She attended high school at Owego Free Academy, Owego, NY and graduated in 1957. Patricia went on to work for IBM for many years before finding her childhood sweetheart John (Jack) Pendergast and moving to Alaska, where they were Wed in1976. She enjoyed Bowling, Playing Cards and visiting friends up until she developed MS which slowed her down to a life of less activity and more of a home life. Patricia is survived by her two sons, Michael Pendergast of Wasilla Alaska and Shawn Pendergast of Jensen Beach, Florida. She has 10 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) Pendergast, 2016. Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Owego, NY. There will be no formal funeral arrangements as she has requested that she be held in memory. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the many friends who have reached out with kind words and stories in her passing. Patricia will be remembered for her pioneering spirit as well as her generosity to those in need and the many conversations she has had with people. May God rest her soul and give her peace in heaven.
