Obituary of Marlene J. Ampula

Marlene J. Ampula, 77, of Endwell, NY passed away peacefully at Mercy House on Thursday, February 13th, Marlene was born on December 23rd 1947, in Binghamton, NY. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Eleanor Powers, her brother Jack Powers, sister Margaret "Peg" Powers and nephew Mark LoVuolo. Marlene is survived by her devoted husband of 54 years, Thomas Ampula; her children Maria (Ron) Romonaski, Aaron, Shawn and Elizabeth Ampula; her grandchildren Jake, Sam and Mariella Romanosky; Brother David Powers; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members. Marlene was a loving wife, mother, Nana and friend. She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit. She touched many lives as a volunteer at Catholic Charity, Meals on Wheels and spent time praying at the Adoration Chapel at Church of the Holy Family. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 20th at Church of the Holy family at 3600 Phyllis Street, in Endwell. The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A private burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Wilson Hospital, Main Tower floor 5 and Mercy House for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Marlene's name to Mercy House in Endicott.
