Anne Obsharsky Obituary

Anne Provenzano Obsharsky was born in Binghamton on Good Friday, April 18, 1924. She passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family at Mercy House on March 12, 2025.

Known to many as Trina, Annie, or Mrs. O, she was the proud daughter of Italian immigrant parents and even started kindergarten without speaking a word of English. When people asked about her secret to longevity, almost 101 years, she had a simple answer, "I'm Sicilian."

She graduated from Binghamton Central High School in 1942, lived for a time in NYC and then returned to Binghamton where she met her husband, Paul Obsharsky, on a blind date. They married on her 35th birthday in 1959, and although they did not have any biological children, they were blessed with raising a loving family.

Anne was predeceased by her parents, Rosario and Angela Provenzano, her beloved husband, Paul Obsharsky, and numerous first cousins.

She is survived by her family, Jean Deamer, Debbie, Bernardo, Gabriela (Javon Pannell), and Ricky Turbides; Angela, Andy, Grace, and Kate Ciaravino; and Paul, Carley, Evelyn, and Paul Andrew Deamer. Special cousins, Connie Reid, Rick Martin, David Martin, and Lisa Fornaresio and their families.

Anne had many friends through her work at Homer Brink Elementary School who she enjoyed continuing to visit with after she retired in 2020.

We would like to thank the nurses and aides at Lourdes Hospital Seton 2 and the entire loving staff at Mercy House in Endicott. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mercy House, 212 N. McKinley Ave. Endicott, NY 13760.

A funeral Mass will be offered at Church of the Holy Family, Endwell on Thursday, March 20th at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Church of the Holy Family on Thursday from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass.
