Obituary of Kimberly J. Harchar

Kimberly Jean Harchar (Kim), 54, of Kirkwood, NY, passed away unexpectedly at her residence and was found Monday, February 17th, 2025. She was born in Houston, Texas, and was adopted by her beloved parents, William and Bonnie Shook. She grew up in Apalachin, NY, where she cultivated a passion for dance and horseback riding during her youth. Kim graduated from Vestal Senior High School, class of '89. Where she developed a love for color guard and cars. She was also a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica A Harchar; granddaughter, Annabeth; and brother, Wayne Shook. She is predeceased by her mother, Bonnie J. Shook and most recently by her father, William H Shook (Bill), her maternal grandparent's; Rudy and Carma Kumnick and by her paternal grandparent's; LaMar H and Mary Shook. Kim had a unique and firey personality marked by determination and a strong will. She cherished her pets, but particularly her pup Zena was extra special to her. Kim enjoyed adventures, scenic views, getting dirty and taking motorcycle rides during the summer on her bike. She treasured all the time spent with her granddaughter, eagerly anticipating every play date. Kim's passing will be deeply felt. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her and it's hoped that she found her serenity and peacefulness on the other side. May she now rest in peace. A celebration of life will be held for close family and friends this summer.
