Obituary of David M Johnson

David M Johnson 77, of Endicott, passed away suddenly, on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital, after a short but courageous fight for his life.

He was predeceased by his wife, Linda Johnson, parents; Carmen Howard and stepfather Glenn Howard, Dick Johnson, grandparents; Jessie Smith, Madeline and Roman Gradala, brother, Roger Johnson.

He is survived by his sister and brother; Charlene Johnson and Raymond Johnson, daughters; Diane Lane (Mark) and Christine Updike (Douglas), grandchildren; Sara Brooks, Joshua Updike, and Stephanie Updike, niece & nephews; Gary Bush, Racheal Newell, Jaimie Johnson, and Michael Pandich, and many special friends and additional family members, too many to count!

His heart was the last to go, which describes his life.

David belonged to the West Endicott Fire Department since 1989 and put all his heart and soul into it. He began as pump operator and then on to Commissioner right up to the end.

He cared so much for his friends and family and lent an ear to everyone, wanting help in any way. He helped many of his loved ones come to rest and now it is his time to rest in peace.

A funeral service will be held at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, on Monday March 24, at 5 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3 pm until the time of the service.
