Obituary of Stephen Christoffersen

Stephen Christoffersen, born October 10, 1962, passed away peacefully at his home in Port Crane, NY on Tuesday, March 18th. Steve was the second son of five to Mary-Anne and Alan Christoffersen. He grew up in Staten Island, NY alongside his four brothers, Alan, John, Brian and Kevin. A skilled builder and problem solver, he designed and constructed his home in Port Crane, where he and his former wife, Janine Tarreto, built a family together. Steve is survived by his three sons, Kyle (Cait), Daniel (Chelsea), and Thomas. Steve also enjoyed his role of grandfather to Kasey, Cade and Bennett. Our family would like to thank Steve's partner of three years, Ellen, who provided Steve with comfort, care, and support as he battled cancer this past year. Steve's early passions included coaching his children's sports teams, spending time on the waterways of the northeast, and sharing in the joys of his family's endeavors. He had a hands-on approach to life and always encouraged his sons to take on new challenges. His memory will live on in the foundations he's built, both in our homes and in the lives of his children and grandchildren. A private family gathering will take place in Staten Island to celebrate the life of Steve.
