Obituary of Ronald J DeVita Jr.

No farewell words were spoken, no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it, only God knows why. Ronald J. DeVita Jr., 62, passed away unexpectedly on March 21st, 2025. He is predeceased by his sister, Julie. He is survived by his parents, Marilyn and Ronald Sr.; sister, Teresa (Eric) Williams; his children, Helen (John) Morton, Jonathan (Leah) DeVita, and Emma DeVita; her mother Shelly; and his grandchildren, Samuel and Emily DeVita, and Shaun and Owen Morton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends. Ron was born on August 30th, 1962, in Endicott, New York. He graduated from Union-Endicott High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and riding his motorcycle. He was a meat cutter for many years. Then, he got his CDL License and started driving for several companies. Most recently, he drove a transport medivan in Bath, NY, where he enjoyed interacting with the residents. Ron loved his dog, Charlie Bucket, and he was a great furry friend to him. Ron had a big heart and was always ready to help when needed. He made friends everywhere he went. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed taking care of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life on Friday, March 28th at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home located at 300 E Main St. Endicott, NY. Calling hours are 3:00-5:00 PM with a service to follow at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, kindly send a donation in memory of Ronald J. DeVita, to the Broome County Dog Shelter, in honor of Ronald's love of animals.
