Obituary of Irene Sedelmeyer

Irene Sedelmeyer, 87, of Endicott, NY, passed away on April 10 in her sleep after a long illness in the home she shared with her husband of 69 years, Raymond C. Sedelmeyer. She is predeceased by her parents Michael and Rose (Salvati) Mingolla and her siblings Dominic, Salvatore, Justine, Michael, Mary, Anne, Bertha, and Carmen. Irene is survived by her husband Ray, sister Gloria of Middletown, NY; brother Joseph (Bonnie) of Lubbock, TX; children Raymond (Suzanne, deceased) of Raleigh, NC; David (Vivian) of Endicott; Joseph (Kyong) of Rochester, MN; Steven (Jennifer) of Endicott; Laura (Mark) Griffin of Camillus, NY; Michael (Roanne) of Cambridge, MA; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Irene was born in Middletown, NY in 1937. She married Ray, her high-school sweetheart, on November 20, 1955. They moved to Endicott where they raised their six children on excellent home-cooked Italian food, a lot of laughter, and the occasional perfectly-timed swear word. Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be deeply missed. Her family thanks Lourdes Hospice for helping to make her last years at home comfortable. There will be a service held on Saturday, April 12 at 2:00 pm at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home in Endicott and a burial service for family on Monday, April 14 at Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City, NY.
