Obituary of Barbara J. Cieri
Barbara J. Cieri age 71, of Endicott, New York, passed away at her home "on the hill" April 9, 2025 after fighting a fierce, courageous battle with cancer. Barb was born in Johnson City, New York and graduated from Union Endicott High School and Broome Community College with a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. Barb enjoyed a fulfilling career in healthcare where she had so very many close friends. Barb was predeceased by her partner in life Debby Hendricks, whose passing left a huge void in her heart, her parents Joseph Cieri and Janet CieriĀ Magura, and her special brother Michael Drozdek. Barb is survived by her cousins, Mike Buchak, Debbie Wheatley, Michelle Gage, Sharon Kotson and several more from the Wheatley family, her close cluster of friends (who Barb considered part of her family), Terri Walters, Lynn Atkinson, Sue Siebold-Simpson, Kathy Filan and her son, Barb's Godson, Patrick Filan. There are too many to list them all, just know that if you were fortunate to have Barb as a dear friend you all know how much you were loved and treasured, her "bonus" family Ryan and Amanda Fuerstenberg and their children (who loved their Grandma B), her beloved kitty Timmy, and her special sister Marybeth Vanderpoel. Barb was a very unique special person and she was all heart; sometimes hidden behind a tough shell. She loved music, good food, Christmas, family memories and spending time with her friends and special families. Barb's snarky sense of humor would reduce you to fits of laughter. Her worldly wisdom was shared with all that knew her and her love and acceptance for all her close peeps was endless. Per Barb's wishes there will be no funeral or celebration of life. Those of us that knew Barb knew that her celebration of life was organized by her and on her turf with our EARLY Christmas celebration. Well, the wreath is coming down and you and your Debby are together again. Fly high Barb; may there be a camper, a boat, and no snakes where you are...Love you dearly my sweet sister.
