My thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and loved ones. I met Joe at Post 82 where I was a member and bartended. Soon after our pool league started playing there, Joe joined in on all the fun and he got pretty good too. He could never be accused of having two left feet. I think he used the dance floor more than anyone...and anywhere else he could show us his moves. You also could never say that Joe Scurry did not live life to the fullest. He was always with a smile on his face and some new story to tell you. He filled a room everywhere he went. He will be missed.

Kevin, Family, and Friends: I am so very sad to hear of Joe's passing. We lived at 721 Delano until 2020. Joe was one of our favorite people. I always called him Ira Joe, because I loved his name. He is probably up in Heaven chatting every one up, telling jokes and singing in the choir. May God rest his soul and bring ease of heart and mind to his family.

To all of Joe’s family and friends please accept my sincere condolences at this difficult time. I have known Joe since I was his paperboy over 50 years ago. His neighbor had a basketball hoop set up and almost every day I’d drop my paper bag and shoot some hoops with the boys at their house and Joe would come over to join us. This was a start of a long friendship. Being friends with Joe was easy. He was truly a people’s person. He loved to interact with all people always willing to share a story or a joke. Throughout our lives we continued to associate with each other. I was especially surprised to run into him after college on an elevator at IBM. We rekindled our friendship and stayed in touch through out our adult lives. He will be missed immensely by all those who were fortunate enough to have met him. Truly “one of a kind” God Bless your soul!!! Until we meet again. Rest in peace my friend. Mark Bohunicky Wesley Chapel Florida.

My sincere condolences to Kevin and all of Joe’s family. I am very saddened to hear of his passing. He was a friend since my deceased husband and I met him and Carol at Orlando’s restaurant in 1994. We loved his lust for life , his sense of humor and most of all we loved to watch him dance. He taught my son Kevin all his moves. We all have wonderful memories of the old crowd at Orlando’s. The dinners , golf tournaments , conversations almost every Friday night over dinner. To quote Joe “ Thanks for coming in” RIP Joe. You were one of a kind for sure

Joe was a good man with great life values and friends. He loved being a rascal and was quite good at it. Always with a joke , a guip or a quiz. Great employee ,great work ethic . He managed his life as well as he managed his investment business. I am proud to have known him and pleased to have been part of his life. Thank you Joe
