Obituary of Jean M Urban

Jeanne M. Urban (82) of Vestal, passed away on April 25, 2025. Jeanne was born on March 2, 1943, to her parents Stella J. Urban and Sylvester Urban. Jeanne is predeceased by her parents and survived by her two brothers, Frank (Sylvia) Urban, Vestal, and Robert (Suzanne) Urban, Waverly; two sisters, Charlotte Urban, Vestal, and Marie (Joseph) Stupak, Bear Creek Twp., PA; nieces, Marlies Urban, Regina George, Rebecca Doty, Natasha Brown, Liz Ricci, and Kay Urban, and nephews, Christopher Urban, Mark Urban, and Jonathan Stupak; four great-nieces, Linnaea, Lily, Hayden and Yvette and one great-nephew Dylan. Jeanne was a 1960 graduate of Mountain View High School, Kingsley, PA, Lackawanna Junior College, and Marywood College, Scranton, PA. She was employed by SUNY Morrisville for 31 years as a curriculum coordinator for the Vocational Clerical Skills Program and later promoted to Assistant Professor in the Office Technology Department. Prior to attending Marywood, Jeanne was employed in the Accounting Department at Mount Airy Lodge, Mt. Pocono, PA. Upon retirement from teaching, she was employed at Syracuse Orthopedic Specialist as a medical transcriptionist and as a sales associate for Catherine's in Vestal. She was a volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and a member of the Binghamton Garden Club, Lyceum, and the Johnson City Senior Center. She enjoyed watching "Family Feud" with Steve Harvey and the late-night comedians, Jimmy Kimmell, Jimmy Fallon, and Steven Colbert. Jeanne thoroughly enjoyed making word games/cartoons for Becky, Linnaea, and Lily. She liked caring for her dolls, Sally Ann and Muffy, collecting "The New Yorker" cartoons, decorating her house/yard for the holidays, making crafts, and doing jumble word puzzles. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 3rd, from 10 AM to 11 AM at Saints Peter & Paul's Orthodox Church, 210 Hill Avenue, Endicott, N.Y. A funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM and will be officiated by the Very Reverend Alexey Karlgut. The burial will be at the Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Vestal, immediately after the Service.
