Joan Snyder, 80, of Vestal, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Vera Knapp, and her brother, Kenneth Knapp.

Joan is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Richard Snyder; her children, Matthew Snyder and his wife Deirdre Snyder, and Paij Howard and her fiancé Chad Andrus; and her four cherished grandchildren, Cassidy Snyder, Nicholas Snyder, Ryan Andrus, Trae Howard and his girlfriend Katey Garcia. Joan is additionally survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Dan LaDue.

Joan was happiest when surrounded by her family. She delighted in spoiling her grandchildren and took immense pride in their accomplishments. Affectionally known as the "Queen," she was a longtime employee of the Vestal High School Guidance Office.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory may be made to the Binghamton Philharmonic, 71 State Street, Binghamton, NY 13901, or to a charity of one's choice.
