Obituary of Charlotte D Carroll
It is with great sadness that the family of Charlotte Carroll, 89, announce the peaceful passing of their beloved Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, loving wife and beloved friend to countless others. Charlotte passed while in respite in Durham NC with loving family by her side on March 1,2025.
Charlotte was born 06/14/35 and lived in her cherished Manhattan, until she met the most handsome, nicest guy she ever met, her future husband David, who drove from his Navy base in Norfolk VA, in a beat-up car, every weekend so they could be together.
David and Charlotte were blessed to say "I do" to each other on 01/15/55 and remained together for the next 58 years. This beautiful marriage resulted in 6 lucky children, 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. During their marriage, Charlotte and Dave moved out of NYC, to pursue various job opportunities to support their brood of 6 children, who gave her a run for her money. Charlotte faced these challenges with Love and appreciation for the life she was blessed with. Her world revolved around taking care of her family with Love, support, laughter and guidance, that remains with all of us today. As a result, she always made her family, friends and strangers all know that she unconditionally loved, cared and would be there for them, without judgement. Whenever she met someone, it was always with her signature "Hello Darling" and when things got more challenging and stressful, the words "God Almighty" could frequently be heard. We will forever miss her unique mannerisms, funny stories, always trying to make any number equation equal 16, her favorite number and her calling for "Jimmy, Jimmy "at 3am every morning to get up for work, still resonates with us all.
When her children grew into young adults and moved out, she continued with her unconditional love and desire to help others, by being involved as a volunteer and Eucharistic minister at her Our lady of Sorrows Church, where her faith and love was felt by her family and countless others. She also worked as a Hospice volunteer, caring for others, their families, attending funerals and staying in contact with these families until her own physical conditions prevented her from giving anymore. She will surely be missed by everyone's life she touched.
Charlotte was predeceased by her loving husband and best friend David, as well as 2 adoring sons Joseph and Michael, and cherished son-in-law, Keith Parker. She is survived by sons James (Michele) Carroll and Thomas (Kim) Carroll, and daughters Linda Parker and Loretta (Michael) Cromie, as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren, that she was so proud of.
