In Loving Memory of Norma Poyneer


Passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 29th at the age of 86. Norma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was marked by faith, service, and love. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Ken Poyneer; their daughter Laura Smith and husband Dan; their son Gary Poyneer and wife Cheryl; grandchildren Jack Poyneer, Brandan Poyneer, and Kacie Smith; and her great- grandchildren Mackenzie, Mackayle, Mackenna, Eli, Arianna and Kay.


Norma graduated from Alfred University in 1960 and worked as a Registered Nurse at Ideal Hospital in the Newborn Nursery.


Norma was a member of Central United Church, where her faith and kindness touched many. She found joy in giving back to her community and shared her talent for knitting by making countless children’s blankets for a local pantry.


She also contributed to the advancement of health and medicine as a participant in the Harvard Nurses' Health Study.


Funeral Services will be held at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC at 300 E. Main St., Endicott, NY on Tuesday, July 8th at 1 PM. Burial will be in Nanticoke Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12 Noon until service time at 1pm.
