Gaylord Conrad (The Game Man), age 89 passed away July 19th, 2025 at home. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Irene Conrad, his brother Dennis and grandson Micheal Conrad. He is survived by his wife Terry of 51 years, children; Craig (Janet) Conrad, New London, NC, Debra (John) Sala, Liverpool, NY, Wendy Jacobs, Endicott, NY and Todd (Marguerite) Conrad, Johnson City, NY. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren; Stephen, Lisa (Pleasant), Daniel, David, Emily, (Whitmore), Brandon (Sala), Matthew (Sala), Alex (King), Eric (Jacobs), Nicholas & Owen Conrad and 12 Great Grandchildren. Also, a special cousin Betty Bone, Sebring Florida. Also surviving are sisters-in-law; Julie Tibone, Jean Head and Eve Tibone (John Byers).
Gaylord retired from IBM in 1992 as a Staff Engineer in Quality Engineering with 38 years of service. He was a member of the IBM 25-year club with his son Craig and a member of the Two Generation Club.
Also, he was a member of the Greenman's Senior Center and its Men's Club where he organized many pool tournaments. He helped establish "Texas-Hold-Em" Poker games at Greenman's, and at First Ward Senior Center.
He introduced Floor-Shuffleboard to the Broome West Senior Center in 2005 where weekly games are now held. He held yearly Shuffle-board tournaments there and as a result of the interest and enthusiasm created, some of the players joined him in competitions at the Empire State Senior Games. Increased participation created a need for a 2nd court, which was purchased by Broome County Senior Games in 2007. He served on the committee for the Broome County Senior Games and was the originator of the Pool. Bocce-Ball and Floor-Shuffleboard events.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 25th, at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 East Main Street, Endicott, at 11am.
