Manuel Goncalves, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, integrity, and love. He was married for 50 years to the love of his life, Joana, and together they built a life grounded in faith, family, and devotion.

Manuel is survived by his wife Joana; his two sons, Manny (Chenoa) Goncalves and Fernando (Courtney) Goncalves; and his five cherished grandchildren – Isabel, Owen, Luke, Jude, and Jack. He also leaves behind his 3 brothers Jack, Joe and Tony and his 2 sisters, Lucia and Gloria.

Those who knew Manuel remember him as a man of discipline and loyalty—serious yet playful, strong yet gentle. He was private by nature but deeply committed to those he loved. Whether through a handshake, a quiet smile, or a simple gesture, his care was unmistakable.

Manuel found peace in the outdoors and purpose in the soil beneath his feet. A lifelong gardener—though "farmer" is probably more fitting—he took joy in turning every corner of his yard into something that could grow. His love for cultivating the earth extended to all living things, and his home was a quiet refuge for people and animals alike.

Though a man of few words, Manuel's wit was sharp, his humor subtle, and his wisdom lasting. He left this world too soon, but not before sowing seeds of humility, hard work, and compassion in the lives he touched.

His memory lives on in the family he shaped, the stories he inspired, and the gardens he left behind.

Rest in peace, Manuel. May your hands stay busy and your gardens forever green.
