James (Jim) Reif, 84, of Vestal, NY, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025. He is predeceased by his parents Louis and Catherine (Gallagher) Reif, his 2 sons, Retired MMCS(SS) Jeffery James Reif and James Michael Reif.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Katherine (Justin) Everett, his sister, Mary Ellen (Lewis) Mauro, daughters-in-law, Susan Reif and Phyllis Reif and a stepdaughter Erika (Jason) Ray. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren: Justin (Courtney) Reif, Lauren (Josh) Wurth, Sara Reif, Christine Reif, Rebecca Doyle, Freedom (Johnny) Robeaux, Kinsley, Judah, and Truly Everett. In addition, he leaves behind 8 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins and very dear friend Bonnie Bergman.

Born and raised in Endicott, Jim graduated from Union Endicott High School in 1960. Over the years, he held several sales positions and later partnered with his good friend, Tom Jeavons, in operating the "Reel to Reel" bar in Endwell. Jim was strong in his faith, had a one-of-a-kind personality, and was a good friend to many.

The family would like to thank the staff at Guthrie Lourdes Seton 3 for their care at the end of Jim's life, and the staff at Willow Point (South 1) for their care and compassion over the last couple of years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity or your choice or to "Make-A-Wish Foundation", an organization close to Jim's heart.

Services will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at St Anthony's Catholic Church, 300 Odell Ave, Endicott NY. The family will receive friends from 10am-11am at the church with Mass following at 11am. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are made by Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Endicott, NY.
