Robert Butler has gone to be with the Lord August 12th 2025.
Born to Corwin and Edith Butler with twin sister Ann in Fort Worth Texas on January 18th 1936, he graduated from high school in 1954 in Blackwell Oklahoma and went on to earn a bachelor's and master's degree in electrical engineering From Oklahoma State University.
He started work with IBM in Endicott in 1959 as a computer programmer and continued that line of work until he retired in 2002.
In June of 1963 he was married to Virginia Ann DeKay and remained married for 62 years now only separated by death. They had four sons Benjamin, William, David, and Jeffrey.
He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Endicott participating in the choir and handbell choir and served as one of the trustees for the church.
Robert supported his three sons through activities such as Boy Scouts and various church activities and camps.
Other activities he did were canoeing having participated in the General Clinton Canoe Regatta for a couple years, sailing, flying where he earned a pilots license and flew several times around the country, trainspotting, change ringing, tower bell ringing.
Robert was predeceased by parents Corwin and Edith Butler, sister Ann Butler, son Benjamin Butler.
Robert is survived by wife Virginia Butler, sons William, David and Jeffery Butler and brothers Edgar and James.
