Janet G. Race, 86, of Apalachin, NY, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Janet was an outgoing person who shared lifelong friendships with many. She was a trusted advisor and confidant, known for her kindness and generosity, and she found great pleasure in donating to a variety of worthy causes. An avid square dancer, she also enjoyed listening to music and a fun trip to the casino. Most of all, Janet was happiest on the sidelines, watching her kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren participate in sports.

Janet was predeceased by her husband, Frank Race.

She is survived by her children: Carol Carter (Ed Colegrove), Karen Traver (Dave), and Bill Race (Tammy Jo); her grandchildren: Andrew Race (Brittney), Jyzaiah Race, and Jozell Race (Maria Yacavoni); her great-grandchildren: Kallie, Tucker, and Bennett Race; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the nurses at Guthrie Hospice for their care of Janet.

At Janet's request, there will be no services. Donations in her memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
