Marcia J. Nelson, 85, of Apalachin, NY passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Willow Point Nursing Home. Marcia was born in Jamestown, NY to Hilma and Duane Brumagim. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years Roger C. Nelson, her daughter Tamela Shaffer, her brother William Brumagim, her great-granddaughter Reianna Jones, and her favorite pug Frankie MaGee. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Patrice and Al Ortega, Rhonda and Tony Castillo, Rebecca and Larry Vanek, Rachel and Mike Spolar and Duane Shaffer. Grandchildren T.J. Shaffer (Kelly), Jason Jones (Alex), Sean Sheppard (Lauren), Scott Sheppard (Taylor), Rocky Spolar, Elya Botbyl (Casey) and Ridge Spolar. Great-grandchildren, Jakob Shaffer, Benjamin Jones, Scott Sheppard, Jr., Ava and Riley Spolar, Brody and Beau Botbyl, Raylan and Brandt Kalodner, Andrew and Ares Ferguson and her very special neighbors whom she considered her adopted family, Brian, Jen and Madison Rieber.

Marcia worked as a manager for Atlantic/Hess in Endicott for over 25 years until she retired in 2003. She knew most of her customers by name and license plate and was fondly referred to as "Red".

Marcia loved bird watching, car races and was an avid reader but her greatest joy in life was her five daughters.

The family would like to extend its thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Willow Point Nursing Home and especially those working on 3rd Floor B Side for all their help and care while she was there.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 4th at 12:00 PM at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 6519 State Route 434, Apalachin, NY. The family will receive friends on Saturday at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM.
