Carol D. Ziemba, of Owego, NY, passed away on 17 September 2025. The daughter of Helen (Boehle) and John Drower, she is survived by her sons John (Kim), Dr. Michael (Ann), and Robert (Brenda), and her grandchildren Hailey, Sydney, Danielle, and Michelle. She is predeceased by her husband Robert and her sisters Elaine and Jacqueline.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, she and her family moved to Westbury, NY where Carol graduated from the East Meadow High School in 1957 and became a bank bookkeeper. Soon after this she met the love of her life, Bob, while he was stationed at Mitchell Field serving in the US Air Force. After his service, they were married in 1960, moved to Bob's hometown to raise their family, and stayed there for the next 57 years of marriage.
Carol led a life of service to others. At an early age, while her father was deployed in World War 2, she helped raise her two young sisters. Soon after getting married, she was a foster parent to many young children. When Bob's mother became ill, Carol provided care for her over multiple years. As her own family grew she volunteered for the various activities they were involved in. She was an active member of the Whittmore Hill Methodist Church. Carol continued her service throughout life, often volunteering for Mom's House, and finally being the primary care giver for Bob late in his life.
Visitation will be held at Coleman & Daniels in Endicott on Friday 26 September 2025 from 10-11am with a service at 11am. A celebration of life will be held at Kristofor's in Endicott at 1:30pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
