Richard Foster Lynch
Our beloved father Richard Foster (Dick, George, Pop Pop) Lynch of Apalachin NY passed away peacefully Tuesday October 7, 2025.
Preceded by his wife of 66 years Nancy K Lynch, his parents, brothers and sisters and brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law. Survived by daughter Sallie, granddaughter Megan & Nate, Great Grandchildren Isabella, Maddison & Kingston. Daughter Pamela & Jay, Granddaughter Brittany & Christa, Great Granddaughter Margaret. Son Thom & Nikki, Granddaughter Adde, Emily, Morgan & Dylan, Marisa & Karleigh, Kelsie & Frank Great Grandchildren Macey, Brody, Luke. Brother Edward, Brother-in-law Jack, Sister-in-law Pat. So many nieces & nephews who he loved & cherished along with special Friends Kenny & Lena Wescot.
Richard served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and retired from IBM Owego after 32 years, he was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club.
Richard was a proud member of St. Brigid Catholic Church, Friendsville PA, a current member of the American Legion Post 357 Halstead PA and the VFW Owego NY. He was an Honoree member of the Apalachin Fire Department – He worked 40 years as a beer tent member for the Apalachin Fireman Field Days.
Richard loved life to the fullest and the many friends that he had! He loved telling stories of his years growing up in Little Meadows PA and his life experiences to anyone that would listen. He was a huge fan of NASCAR (in its early years), Red Socks, NY Giants, snowmobiling and camping & traveling with Mom. He loved going to The Blue Dolphine for breakfast and an occasional afternoon at Whitetails. He was known around Little Meadows as the historian.
The viewing will be at Coleman & Daniels 6519 St Rt 434, Apalachin Sunday October 12, 2025, from 2pm – 5pm. On Monday October 13 a funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Brigid Parish Friendsville PA at 11am, burial to follow at the St. Thomas Cemetery, Little Meadows PA.
