Linda Annette Fowlkes Smoker, 63, of Vestal, NY was promoted to Heaven on October 24, 2025, at Sloan Kettering Memorial Hospital in New York City.

A celebration of life will be held at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle (CalTab) on Tuesday, October 28 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Rob Hammaker officiating. A reception will follow at the church.

Linda was born in Richmond, VA to Earl and Jean Fowlkes. Linda attended Thomas Dale High School and Tennessee Temple University.

Linda had many interests. She extended her talents in quilting nationwide as the technical editor for Quilt Magazine and later as a freelance writer for many national and international designers. She was a Christ-follower and actively served at CalTab Church on the worship team. Linda also led a support group for women coping with mental health concerns within their family.

Linda is survived by her husband, Steve Smoker, her mother Jean Fowlkes, her brother Dr. Earl Fowlkes, sisters Debbie Francisco (Kenneth Francisco), Stephanie Konicki (Craig Konicki), and her children Jessie Holbert (Jamie Holbert), Hannah Harris, Josiah Smoker and Nathan Smoker (Ann Smoker). Linda has twelve grandchildren that will miss her dearly including Abigail, Benjamin, Jackson, Emily, Annalise, Avah, Harper, Coleson, Easton, Trace, James and Zelda as well as countless other friends and family members. She is proceeded in death by her father Earl Fowlkes Sr., her brother David Fowlkes, and her son-in-law Levi Harris.
