Micheal (Mike) Anthony Reistetter, affectionately known as "Papa," passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25,2025, at the NYS Veterans' Home in Oxford with his family by his side. He was born on May 1, 1947, in Binghamton, NY.

Mike was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marylou Reistetter; his parents, George and Margaret Reistetter; and his sister, Agnes Reistetter. He is survived by his former spouse, Patricia Hanzalik; his children, Kimberly (Patrick) Traver, Wendy (Roger) Reistetter, and Micheal Patrick; his grandchildren, Brooke (Griffin) Goosman, Alicia, Stephanie, and Kristin Reistetter; and his great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his siblings, Francine Reistetter (Shawn), George (Denise) Reistetter, and Andrea Reistetter; his cherished cat, Snow White; and many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff and residents at the NYS Veterans' Home in Oxford for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to him.

Mike proudly served as an Army Specialist who served the Vietnam War, where he was honored with numerous commendations for his bravery and dedication. His decorations include the Bronze Star, Air Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, and many others. After his military service, he worked at Vail-Ballou Press.

We find comfort in knowing that Dad's legacy lives on through the many stories he shared, his love of history, his passion for walking, golfing, and mushroom picking, memories we will cherish forever.

While the family will be holding a private remembrance to honor Mike's life, they are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and shared memories from all who knew him. Mike will be laid to rest with full military honors at Riverhurst Cemetery.
