Thomas Tomasky, 83, of Maine, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.

Born on January 7, 1942, in Simpson, Pennsylvania, he was pre-deceased by his parents John and Anna Tomasky, and his brother John (Marilyn) of Endicott, NY. Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Rae; his children, David (Sherry) and Julie (Jim); granddaughters, Nora and Eva; and niece Tamara (Kevin).

Tom was a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology and worked at IBM for more than 25 years, where he served as an electrical engineer and manager.

He was widely regarded and respected as an intelligent, practical, and generous problem solver, earning him the nickname "Mr. Fixit." Outside of his professional life, he was an avid fisherman, RC airplane hobbyist, and accordion player. He coached his children's sports teams and enjoyed walks in the woods with his black lab Pepper, foraging for mushrooms for Christmas Eve holy supper.

Tom's second home was in the 1000 Islands where he visited as a teenager and spent every summer in Clayton during his retirement. He fished for the elusive muskie aboard the Dee Dee III and grew award-winning sunflowers.

No matter how active or busy Tom was, his family always came first — they were more important to him than anything else.

Funeral services will be held at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main Street, Endicott, NY on Tuesday, November 4th at 12:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of Noon. Burial will follow in the Town of Maine Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a gathering and meal beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Frank's Italian Restaurant in Maine.
