On October 23, 2025 we sadly said good-bye to our husband, father, brother and friend Gilbert Arthur (Bo, Bobe) Swart as he peacefully passed into his higher life.
Bo was born on September 22, 1949 to Joyce and Glenn Swart of Afton, NY where he grew up. He was predeceased by a sister Terri Lee (1965) and brother David Glenn Swart (1999).
After many years of friendship, then separation, he reconnected with and married his loving, devoted wife Christine Hills Campbell who survives him. This is a truly beautiful love story.
He is also survived by a sister Christine (Chriss) Swart of Vestal; daughters Mary Ellen King, Kristin (Matt) Corsi and Kerri Swart; grandchildren Gregory and Liliana King, Emilia and Ella Corsi; and step-children Kelly and Kent (Anjoulena) Campbell.
Also surviving are his mother-in-law, Betty Hills; brothers-in-law Terry (Ginny) Hills, Mark (Sharon) Hills, Brian (Debbie) Hills, and sister-in-law Kathy LaPlante. His 4-legged constant companions Tess and Stormy also survive him.
Bo attended Sullivan County Community College and Oneonta State University and retired from Frito Lay in 2018 where he was the Dock Coordinator.
Bo was a man of many thoughts, but few words, unless the topics of politics or sports arose. A big sports fan, he is sure to be cheering on the LA Dodgers this fall. Next up – The Green Bay Packers.
The Family would like to thank UHS Wilson Hospital and the doctors, nurses, aides and sitters who cared for Bo with immense care and compassion. And a special thank you to the palliative team who walked with the family through this most difficult time.
An informal gathering of friends and family will be held at the Johnson City Senior Center on Sunday, November 9 from 1:00-4:00 pm.
