Maribee M. James Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love we mourn the passing of Maribee M. James (June) who succumbed peacefully in her home at the age of 96. Known to all as Aunt June and remembered as an extremely determined woman who always had a plan to make things go her way. She was a woman of great Christian faith who deeply loved her church and time spent singing in the choir.

She always spoke of meeting her beloved husband, Doug again and enjoying dinner with him. On the afternoon of October 23, 2025, Aunt June passed to be with Uncle Doug. It is our sincere hope they were dining together at 6 p.m.

Aunt June was born in Harford, PA on November 25, 1928 to Glenn and Rhea Cook MacDonald. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Doug and three siblings Reba Pickering, Doris Gow and James MacDonald.

Prior to retirement she worked as a book keeper for Clark Cleveland and Homer Gow Construction. During retirement she and Uncle Doug proudly established a successful jewelry business, "June's Gems". They could always be found behind the tables at various craft shows, fairs and festivals.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Dennis MacDonald (Carolee) Clarks Summit, PA, Sandra Gow Wood, South Montrose, PA, William Gow (Gloria) Little Meadows, PA, Rebecca Gow Baker Vestal, NY, Betsy Gow Sodon (Edward) Brackney, PA and Patricia Pickering Huling Owego, NY, numerous great nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

The family extends their gratitude to Dr. Rai, her caregivers and Guthrie Hospice for enabling Aunt June to pass in her own home with Tiger, her beloved cat, by her side.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Guthrie Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal, New York 13850.

Funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, November 13 at 11 a.m. by Pastor Paul Reed from the Central United Methodist Church Endicott, New York in Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St., Vestal, New York. Burial will follow in the Vestal Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11a.m.
