It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Steven A Jacobs, (64) on Tuesday, 11/11/2025 at his home in Endicott, NY with his wife Christina and sister-in-law Amina by his side. His passing came after a courageous battle with two different types of cancer: esophageal and colorectal.
He was born on November 14, 1960, in Ephrata, PA, a son to Phil and Stella Jacobs. Some of his earliest memories included the big yard they had while they lived in PA, and how all of the kids in the neighborhood would come over to play in it. As well as many fond memories of trips to the shore with his family, and trips to his grandparents' home.
When he was 8, his family moved to Endwell, NY, where he grew up and graduated from Maine-Endwell, class of 1978. He went on to get an Associates in Arts from BCC, and Bachelors in Science from Elmira College. He took a position with Coca-Cola in 1982, working delivery and sales, and did so until he retired at age 56. After retirement, he took a few parttime jobs to keep busy, but then fully retired a few years ago.
In 2002, Steve met the love of his life, Christina, whom he married in 2004. He helped raise her two daughters, Amy and Heaven, and recently celebrated his 21st anniversary with her. They shared many happy years together, and built a home to be proud of.
His greatest passion was becoming sober and dedicating his time to help others do the same. Between handling the treasury duties to finding a new location for meetings when a previous location was sold, Steve poured his heart and soul into making sure people had a place to gather to battle the ugly demon known as alcohol.
His hobbies included: gardening, sports, cooking, and family. He was a very social person, who could make anyone feel at home within minutes of meeting him. When asked how he wanted to be remembered in life, his reply was simply, "I just want to be remembered… period." Trust us when we say, NO ONE will ever forget Steve.
Steve was predeceased by his sister, Audrey Prentice, as well as several aunts, an uncle, and all grandparents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Christina, his daughters, Amy and Heaven, and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his parents, Phil and Stella Jacobs, and two brothers: Brad (Sandy) Jacobs, and Michael (Michelle) Jacobs. On his wife's side, he is survived his brother-in-law Chuck (Hope) Batsford, and sister-in-law Amina (Kerron) Marcano. His surviving nieces and nephews include: Kristy, Chad, Joel, Kyle, Chelsea, Katie, Connor, Carter, Brandon, Charles, Jarrod, Ryleigh, Maryam, Naeemah, AbdurRahman, Summayyah, Khadijah, Asiyah, and Zunairah, as well as several great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 22, 2025 at St Paul's Episcopal Church, located at 200 Jefferson Ave, Endicott, NY 13760 from 12-3PM,as this will be a time to gather and share our memories of Steve. There will be no funeral, as he did not want one.
