Ed and Hope like to do projects together, they learned to do cut glass projects as well as punched tin. One of his favorite activities was going to "Breakfast with the Boys" every Saturday morning – Boys will be boys, no matter how old they are!

Ed was once asked how he would like to be remembered. He replied, "I want to be remembered as someone who loved his fellow man. But I don't know if I am remarkable enough for remembrance, except by my family. They are the ones that matter most to me."
