Robert (Bob) passed into the arms of his savior on January 16, 2026 at the age of 94. He was born in Forty-Fort, PA on September 13, 1931, to Amos and Bessie Oney. He graduated from Kingston Township High School in 1949 and Bloomsburg University in 1954. He served in the US Army from August 1954 – August 1956. Upon discharge from the Service, he started employment with IBM Owego as an accountant. He retired from IBM in February 1989. He then continued his employment with Stella/Getty, CPA and AARP preparing tax returns. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Endicott. He served as an usher captain for 50+ years, served as treasurer of Wesley Class, volunteered his time at the CUMH Shephard's Supper, as well as also volunteering for CHOW. Bob loved playing golf and spending time with his Wife, kids and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Regina (Siperko) Oney with whom he shared 67 years of marriage; brothers William Oney and Thomas Oney; brother-in-law Ron Franklin; sister-in-law Joan Oney; nephew's wife Karen Franklin; infant nephew Ronald Amos Oney and several brothers and sisters-in-law in the Siperko family. He is survived by his children Mark and Gail Oney (Danville, CA) and Kathie and Kevin O'Brien (Endwell, NY); his grandchildren Chris Oney (Danville, CA), Matt (Thais) Oney (San Diego, CA), Kate O'Brien (Fernando) Endwell, NY, Jack O'Brien (Sierra) Endwell, NY; great grandson Alsonso; sister Iris Franklin; sister in law Barbara Oney as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law in the Siperko family. The family would like to thank the staff at Hilltop UMH and Mercy House for their wonderful, compassionate care for Robert. Family will hold a private service at a later date.
