Hazel A.Youells, 75, of Apalachian, New York, passed away peacefully in the early hours of January 17, 2026, after a long battle with cancer.

She is survived by her children, Deanna and Jeremy Youells, their spouses Brian Gollogly and Erin Youells; her grandchildren, Shelby and Avery Rose, Evan and Nicholas Youells, and Calvin Nichols; as well as her brother Frank and Marcia McConnel, and close friends Jessica Cambisi and Dorothy Stroud.

Hazel had many joys in her life, some of which include being a mother, grandmother, and good friend to those who knew her. She also enjoyed the simple things, such as gardening, canning, baking, and sewing, many of which she shared with her grandchildren.

Hazel had a few different jobs throughout her years, but none she enjoyed more than being a teacher's aide at West Learning Center in Apalachian, NY, where she was adored by the staff and students.

The family will receive friends at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 6519 Rt. 434, Apalachian on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 11 am-12 pm with a luncheon to follow. In honor of Hazel's favorite color, we kindly request that attendees wear purple.
